 Giants Ridge Golf & Ski Resort offers two 18-hole courses, The Legend and The Quarry.  The scenic drive from Vermilion to Giants Ridge takes less than 30 minutes. 
  • Soudan Minnesota Underground Mine State Park - Unique underground tour and exhibit area
  • International Wolf Center in Ely - legends and history of the wolf are examined and interpreters explain the habits and behavior of the facilities' own wolf pack. 
  • Mineview in the Sky in Virginia provides a sweeping view of the Rouchleau Mine. 
  • Learn about the area's logging and mining history through artifacts, photographs and displays at the Ely-Winton Historical Museum.
  • Vince Shute Wildlife Sanctuary - View wild black bears close up, in their forest home.
